Tech firm looks to the future with 10 graduate hires

Press Release: November 19, 2021

A GLOBAL technology solutions provider has bolstered its UK team with 10 new graduate hires.

Saggezza UK, which is headquartered in Sunderland and has teams in London, Edinburgh, Leeds and Birmingham, has welcomed its latest cohort of graduates as part of its annual graduate recruitment initiative.

Since opening its first base in the UK in 2014, the company has gone on to grow to a team of 125 and ramped up its UK recruitment efforts over the past six months, as it looks to surpass the 200 headcount mark next year.

Central to this has been the expansion of its annual recruitment programme and the expansion of its Tech Track initiative, which aims to ensure all graduate hires receive the level of support required to hit the ground running while onboarding remotely.

Launched in January 2020, Tech Track provides graduates with an opportunity to participate in an intensive eight-week development programme prior to joining their teams, ensuring they have the experience and skills required before cutting their teeth on client projects.

John Wright, talent acquisition manager at Saggezza UK, said: “We are delighted to welcome this year’s cohort of graduates to the company and we are looking forward to working with them as they begin their Saggezza journey.

“Since opening our first UK office seven years ago, we’ve continued to invest year-on-year in our graduate programme and year after year we’ve been blown away by the quality of hires it attracts, with many going on to forge really successful careers with the company and I’m sure a number of our latest recruits will continue in the same vein.”

He added: “Alongside our planned recruitment drive for 2022, this is another major investment from our parent company Infostretch into our regional teams and it really shows their commitment to developing talent from across the UK.”

Each of the graduate hires will complete their induction training virtually before adopting either a hybrid or fully remote working arrangement, depending on their individual needs.

Chris Dwyer a computer science graduate from Edinburgh University, was one of the 10 graduates from this year’s cohort and joined Saggezza’s Edinburgh team after being impressed by the company’s global client base.

He said: “It seemed like a great company to join as a graduate, not only due to the resources they’ve put in to provide support for graduates, but also the fact that it’s an international company with so many paths you can take to progress your career.

“The Tech Track programme in particular is extremely useful, especially when you’re fresh out of university with little to no experience of working in a professional environment. It provides you with all the resources and access to people that you need to get started and really helps build up your confidence and help kickstart your career.”

Another graduate to join this year’s cohort is Samantha Beck, who joined the programme as an associate developer having studied media and journalism at Northumbria University before choosing to switch career and completing a masters in computing at the University of Sunderland.

She said: “Before I got into tech, I completed a journalism degree before deciding it wasn’t what I wanted to do. I’d previously studied computing at A-Level and chose to pursue that instead by completing an MSc in computing.

“At first, I thought it would be virtually impossible, or at least very difficult, to get into computer science and development, but after doing some research into it, I realised that I could change the path I wanted to take quite easily by joining Saggezza’s graduate programme.

“After reading up on the company, I realised they weren’t just a local business, despite being based in Sunderland, but that they had clients and offices around the world, meaning I would have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and connect with people across the globe.

“This, along with the training they put you through on the Tech Track programme, really appealed to me and my initial thoughts on how hard the transition would be couldn’t have been any further from the reality. I’m delighted to be here and am looking forward to seeing how my new career develops from here on out.”

Saggezza is now actively recruiting for a number of developers, software testers and salesforce consultants across Edinburgh, Sunderland and Birmingham, with more roles to be advertised over the coming months.
