Saggezza - Technology with Wisdom

Our client is a major operator of retail kiosks in the US. The operator's intelligent vending machines are placed outdoors at popular locations, allowing customers to purchase items and rent and return DVDs.  They make heavy use of technology to ensure adequate and appropriate stock levels at each kiosk.  Our client's business, the DVD rental business in particular, is increasingly reliant on mobile technology and social media for the highest quality recommendations and customer referrals.  Our client recognized that it is important to offer an API, around which partners and affiliates can develop web and mobile solutions.  They saw OpenAPI as a potential solution but needed help with implementation.

Saggezza's deep knowledge of API tools like OpenAPI enabled us to quickly get up to speed.  We developed an architecture, composed of three layers: the internal source layer (existing systems), the new Open Service Layer (built on .Net 4.0 Web Services) and the new Cloud Layer.

The resulting framework allows partners to build applications which integrate seamlessly with our client's business systems and provides a platform on which our client builds their own mobile applications.  Saggezza helped this client to build an ecosystem of business partners, which drives their growth.  This ecosystem would simply not have been possible without an Open API.
