Modernization at a Large Print Company

Our client provides transactional printing and logistics solutions (invoices, customer services communications, marketing letters etc.).  Their customers include companies in the insurance, banking and telecoms sectors, so the volume of printing is vast.  Many of our client's systems are running on legacy platforms (including mainframes), which are inflexible, expensive to maintain and slower than competitors' systems.  The company approached Saggezza with the aim of reducing the overall technology cost of ownership, reducing the complexity of system maintenance and building a flexible platform which would enable business transformation.

Saggezza conducted a Strategic Review of nearly 300 systems across all of our client's business and recommended an innovative approach to converting the platform to open systems in a short time frame.

Saggezza designed a target architecture which met the client's business and technical requirements and was adopted as the guideline architecture for all the client's systems.  We then established a factory-based approach to application conversion - the client prioritizes work and retains all strategic knowledge and a Saggezza team takes on the repetitive work of converting each system to the target architecture.

The Saggezza approach has not only reduced the overall cost of ownership but had dramatic impact on performance.
